A South Bend man has been charged in connection with the brutal beating of a man.
Last Thursday, police found 46-year-old Irvin Johnson lying in the 200 block of East Indiana Avenue with severe head injuries.
Wednesday, 38-year-old Juan Gonzales was charged with one count of attempted murder.
If convicted, Gonzales faces up to fifty years behind bars.
At this hour, Johnson remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police continue their investigation.
