Hey all…
April 18th is “Clean your Files Day!” Yes, I’m excited too. If you have a bunch of extra files and things you need shredded, today is the day to get rid of those.
College Football Hall of Fame Parking Lot
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
April 18, 2007
Volunteers will help you load paper from your car into the curbside recycling truck. If you have items that need to be shredded, Central Files, Inc. will have locked secure document receptacles at the Hall of Fame.
This is all part of helping make South Bend a “Clean City.” Its purpose is to increase recovery of office paper by purging old files and to promote workplace recycling.
HERE ARE SOME INTERESTING (AND STUNNING) FACTS:
• It takes 75,000 trees EACH WEEK to produce the Sunday edition of the New York Times.
• The average American uses 580 pounds of paper a year.
• One tree can filter up to 60 pounds of pollutants from the air each year.
• Recycling a 4 foot stack of paper saves a 40-foot pine tree.
