Andrew’s University Student Arrested After Beating Professor

Closer to home, violence at a local university has one student jailed on attempted murder charges.

According to our Read It/Watch It partners at the Herald Palladium, 28-year-old Romana Baciu beat an Andrews University seminary professor, and later attacked a police officer.

Monday, Baciu reportedly locked the door of Professor Russell Burrill's office and began beating him, all the while yelling "repent".

A secretary had to unlock the door and people rushed in to restrain Baciu.

Baciu was handcuffed and taken into an ambulance where he reportedly told a police officer he wanted to kill Burrill.

When medics tried to treat him, Baciu reportedly attacked Berrien Springs officer Milton Agay saying he wanted to kill him.

Baciu was subdued and then cuffed to the stretcher.

He also faces charges of assaulting a police officer.
