Governor Daniels Hopeful of New Hoosier Military Bills

Hoosier soldiers, veterans, and their families could be getting help from state lawmakers.

Several bills will help active duty soldiers, national guardsmen, and reservists serving in combat.

One would provide tax breaks to those soldiers.

Another would help military families struggling because a member was deployed.

A third would allow parents, spouses and siblings of service men and women to take unpaid leaves from their jobs to be with families.

It is not clear how many bills will pass, but Governor Daniels recently said he hoped several would reach his desk.
