The Studebaker family helped create what South Bend is today and today the Studebaker Museum honored someone who made a difference in the area.
The museum inducted Mike Leep into its Hall of Champions tonight.
The Leep name is well known in the area through the Gurley-Leep dealership.
As the museum was thanking Leep for his work in the area the auto dealer also thanked the community.
“That gave me my start, it gave me the opportunity to be where I am today and I am truly blessed, I thank you all for supporting the community and the Studebaker national museum,” says Leep.
Leep took time tonight to talk about some of the local businesses that helped his local business.
He heralded the accomplishments of several local not for profit groups in the community, including Saint Joseph Medical Center and the Women's Care Center.
