At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday just over 1,700 Midwest Energy Cooperative members remain without power in the aftermath of the series of damaging storms that crossed southwest Michigan overnight Monday.

At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday just over 1,700 Midwest Energy Cooperative members remain without power in the aftermath of the series of damaging storms that crossed southwest Michigan overnight Monday.

16 crews are in the field this morning working on clean-up, rebuilding and restoration. The process is very time and labor intensive as storms left significant damage with downed trees and power lines across the entire service territory.

Officials remain hopeful that all service will be restored by Friday.

The next update will follow at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Midwest Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility providing electric distribution and an assortment of energy-related programs and services to more than 35,000 customers in 11 counties in southern Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio.
