FDA Says No to Cocaine Energy Drink

The Food and Drug Administration says no to cocaine.

Not just the illegal drug, but also this energy drink with the same name produced by a Las Vegas company.

You may remember it was included in a series NewsCenter 16’s Maureen McFadden did in February called the Energy Drink Buzz.

It contains no actual cocaine, but it calls itself the legal alternative.

Now, the FDA is calling them on it, accusing the company of illegal marketing and making claims it cannot support.

The FDA says Redux Beverages has 15 days to respond to the violations of federal laws.
