Michigan Lawmakers Attack Ipods

Some Michigan lawmakers want to tune out a proposal to buy Ipods for students.

The proposal suggests buying Ipods and mp3 players for kindergarten through 12th grade students in Michigan.

The idea first surfaced last week, when State House Democrats mentioned it during a news conference on the state budget.

Some lawmakers said they wanted to spend money on Ipods because they can help students learn.

Republicans blast the plan as being crazy.

Some Democrats are wondering why the idea would be floated when the state is facing a budget shortfall.
