Repair work on a gas line that has troubled South Bend residents for weeks has been delayed.
The natural gas main is below Sample Street, and has been seeping fuel for weeks.
For the past few months, residents have complained of strong fumes.
Today NIPSCO was scheduled to begin the repair work, but they were delayed by the weather.
Officials wants to make it clear that while the main is being repaired, there is no danger to residents.
Once the project gets underway, west Sample will be down to one lane, from Greenview to Birchwood.
