Voters in Niles will see another school bond proposal on ballot next month.
Two bond proposals will be on the ballot May 8th and the first proposal is for more than 37-million dollars and would be used for building and technology upgrades.
Proposal two would be used to convert the first floor of Eastside School into administrative offices, an alternative high school, and an adult education facility.
That bond is for just over 2.3 million dollars school officials say it is time voters pass a bond because school upgrades are needed.
“This is plan B. plan A was in February of 06. This committee went back and started all over. This is plan b. if this doesn't pass…the next bond issue would probably be more expensive,” says Superintendent Doug Law.
School officials say, proposal one must pass in order for proposal two to be implemented.
If the bonds pass this year, the school system is projected to save up to 200-thousand dollars each year.
