A man accused of shooting a South Bend Police Officer will head to trial in August.
73-year-old Jerome Osborn faces two felony counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
The shooting happened in front of Osborn's South Bend home last month.
Police were on a routine investigation when Osborn allegedly shot at the officers.
The bullet grazed Corporal Kelly Waite's head.
Osborn says it is all a misunderstanding and that he lives in a bad neighborhood and was trying to protect himself.
In court Wednesday Osborn was given a trial date of August 27th.
