New Gas Bill Could Hurt The Economy

Everyone would like to see some pump price relief, but if Congress passes an Anti-Price Gouging Bill aimed at oil companies, a new study says it will hurt the economy during a National Emergency.

The American Council for Capital Formation says the legislation would cause a return to fuel shortages like the 70's energy crisis.

They also say it would cost the economy almost $2 billion.

The study comes as unleaded gas prices hit $2.78 a gallon nationally Monday.
