Soon shoppers could see some changes at Concord Mall in Elkhart.
According to our reporting partners at The Truth, the owners asked the Elkhart Plan Commission to change the mall's zoning from a community to regional business district.
The change would allow special events, festivals, or concerts at the shopping center.
Officials are also hoping to bring a movie theater to the mall.
The zoning request is part of Concord Mall's long term plans to create a campus like atmosphere.
The request will go to the Elkhart City Council for final approval, with a favorable recommendation from the plan commission.
