Former Indiana man among those injured at Ft. Hood
Ft. Hood, TX Hewitt, who was born and raised in Lafayette, is being treated at a Ft. Hood area hospital.

A former Indiana man is among the 31 people injured in the deadly rampage at Ft. Hood.
Nathan Hewitt's uncles say one bullet grazed the 26-year-old soldier's hip and a second went through his calf.
Hewitt, who was born and raised in Lafayette, is being treated at a Ft. Hood area hospital.
His relatives say he was in a base medical center getting vaccinations when the shooting began.
"The next thing he knows there was a lot of shooting going on and he hollered to some other people that were in the room with him to follow him to follow and they escaped out of the back door," Hewitt's Uncle Rex Deaton said.
The family says they are proud of Nathan and thankful he survived.
