Indiana schools get a passing grade for progress.
The Indiana Department of Education says more than half of Indiana schools made yearly progress in 2006 as required by federal law.
The data released Wednesday shows that about 52% of schools and 79% of school corporations made "adequate yearly progress."
The report says some of the biggest gains came from minority students and special education students.
Here in Michiana, South Bend and Elkhart school corporations did not meet their AYP. Mishawaka and PHM both did.
