Options, that's what local residents and business are getting when it comes to how they travel due to a newly built hangar at the Elkhart Municipal Airport.
The hanger was just finished being built last week to serve local business and bring business to the airport.
Airport officials expect this company to bring in about $10,000,000 to the airport through things like government funding, as well as fuel and fixing equipment.
“The need is huge right now, and I think it goes back to 911 and the airlines,” says Scott Wise of Travel Management Company.
The Travel Management Company is a charter service that is changing the way people travel.
"The benefit is time saving because we can be across the country in a few hours as opposed to taking a whole day to travel,” says Jason Lipper of Lipper Components.
“It’s a lot of opportunity for local business to travel to some places that they might not otherwise be able to get to directly,” says pilot Joe Gilbert.
Gilbert is one of 15 pilots who live in the area. And, many of the other employees are local too. Actually, the hanger itself was built by a local company.
