Michigan Sports Makes a Change

Girls high school sports are about to change in Michigan because of a discrimination case in the Supreme Court.

Today, the U.S Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal in a long-running legal case that found scheduling for Michigan high school sports discriminates against girls.

Starting with the 2007-2008 school year, girl’s basketball will move from fall to winter and girl’s volleyball will move from winter to fall.

Golf, soccer and tennis for both girls and boys will also change to equally distribute the preferable seasons.

However the MHSAA says it is disappointed by today's decision.
