Police are still looking for the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run in Mishawaka.

Two people were killed including a Mishawaka High School Student.

It happened just after midnight on 12th street when a car drove-up on the shoulder and into a group of people.

Police have been following up on many leads throughout the course of the day, and they are still looking for a possible suspect and vehicle in the hit and run.

This afternoon, family and friends of the victims, 16-year-old Adam Vickery and 43-year-old Dennis Evans, are struggling to make sense of what happened.

In memory of the victims, friends and family placed flowers near the scene of that hit and run.

Several students from Mishawaka High School and family members gathered at the scene this afternoon.

Many were visibly shaken over the loss of one of their classmates.

At the time of the accident, there were a total of five people that were walking westbound on 12th.

Two suffered minor injuries, and another was uninjured.

Myles Wooten was good friends with Adam and was one of the people with him during that hit and run. “I hope they get what they deserve, not right, with someone hitting them for no reason,” he says.

Police need your help finding the suspect.

They are looking for a mid-90's Chevy Caprice or Buick that is burgundy in color.

They say the car should be heavily damaged on its front passenger side.

If you have any information call Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.

Mishawaka police tell us they have had many good leads come in.

They are just in the process of following up on those and finding whoever is responsible.
