The investigation continues into whether or not the shooting of a Benton Harbor teen was justified.
Police say 16 year old Corey Napier was shot to death while trying to break into a house on Hastings Avenue.
Corey's mother, Shadonna Napier, says her son didn't deserve to die for the crime. She says what her son was doing was wrong but the shooting is unjustified.
NewsCenter Sixteen talked with Maurice Ray who was with Corey and two other teens.
He says the four skipped school Monday to break into the house for drugs and money after receiving a tip from another student.
But when Napier couldn't open the window he started to leave that's when the man inside the house allegedly started shooting.
A new Michigan law gives homeowners the right to defend themselves if they feel they are in danger if someone breaks in.
Corey's mom says the shooting wasn't justified though because Corey wasn't armed.
The homeowner's name is not being released because he has not been arrested.
He is no longer is police custody.
The investigation is expected to be finished by the end of this week.
