Criminal charges have been filed against a 73-year old South Bend man who allegedly shot at two city police officers.
The shooting occurred Sunday night in the 43-hundred block of South Main.
One of the bullets grazed the left temple of Corporal Kelly Waite, who was not seriously injured.
Police have charged 73 year old Jerome Osborn with two felony counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
Each count carries a maximum term of eight years in prison.
According to court documents two officers were checking vacant homes in the area, when they were approached by Osborn.
The officers shined their flashlights at Osborn, who hollered at them, not to shine the flashlights at him.
Osborn then allegedly raised his firearm and starting shooting.
