Could a daily dose of blueberries help prevent colon cancer?
Researchers at Rutgers University say an antioxidant found in the popular fruit shows promise.
Rats that were prompted to develop colon cancer were injected with the antioxidant.
And after eight weeks, researchers saw 57% fewer precancerous tumors.
Eating blueberries will not cure colon cancer, but researchers hope to use the information to develop medication to help fight the disease.
