Students at Adams High School in South Bend had a special visitor Friday.
The European Union’s Ambassador to the US stopped at the school to talk to students.
John Bruton talked about how the US and other countries work with the European Union.
As ambassador, he works with people from across the world on topics such as trade, counter-terrorism, and the environment.
But he says talking to young adults might be the most important tool for the future.
Bruton said, “I think it's the most important job that an ambassador can do is to talk to high school students because they are the people that will be making the decisions for the longest period into the future of all the people alive today. And it's important that they understand the importance of international relations.
Bruton is also the former Prime Minister of Ireland.
