Michigan Proposes Education Cuts

Cuts could be on the way to Michigan schools to help close a 942-million dollar budget deficit.

The Senate voted 20-to-18 to cut school spending by 34-dollars per student, but Republicans say Governor Jennifer Granholm's spending cuts were not deep enough.

Yesterday, Granholm issued an executive order that included 344-million dollars in cuts and other changes and these school cuts would save about 57-million dollars more.
