Cost of Contraceptives Are Higher

The cost of safe sex is up and that has some college health clinics worried.

A change in the Medicaid rebate law brought on a sudden increase in the price of birth control pills at student health centers.

At some clinics the prices have almost tripled.

Now, some students have stopped taking the oral contraceptives, or switched to less effective methods.

About 40% of college women use birth control pills.
