SB Firefighters Continue Search For Missing Homeless Man

South Bend firefighters continue to search through the rubble of a warehouse fire for the body of a missing man.

The vacant warehouse caught fire late Tuesday night at the corner of Walnut and Western.

South Bend Police believe a homeless man may have been inside the warehouse when the fire started.

Officials say, 50-year-old Richard Ekin had permission to enter the building and has not been seen since the fire.

Police say, due to the amount of damage, it will take several days to complete their search of the building.

Ekin is described as a white man with sandy brown hair, about 5-feet 7-inches and 150 pounds.

Ekin was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

If you have any information, you are asked to call police.
