We have an update for you on the immigration raid that happened in Mishawaka earlier this month.
A spokesperson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement or "ICE" in Chicago tells us 29 of the 35 arrested illegal aliens have been temporarily released.
Most of them posted the required bond.
Five others are still in federal custody.
We're also told the majority of the people out on bond have returned to the Michiana community, while they wait for their hearings.
ICE officials say if the arrested aliens do not show for their court date, they face immediate deportation.
“It's important to note that they have been placed into deportation proceedings and part of the posting of the bond is that they are required to appear at a scheduled deportation heading before an immigration judge,” ICE spokeswoman Gail Montenegro said.
ICE officials say the criminal investigation into Janco Composites is ongoing.
