A man police say killed an Elkhart man and critically injured another over the weekend, turned himself in to police Thursday morning.
The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s office says 27-year-old Tyrus Coleman shot Jermaine Jackson and Anthony Dye on Sunday evening in the 900 block of Blaine Ave.
20-year-old Jackson was taken to the hospital and died later that evening.
36-year-old Anthony Dye is still in critical condition.
Coleman’s family was with him when he turned himself in to police.
“Our family's been going through a lot, because we're kinda family with the other family. So we have friends that are torn in between and we're torn... It's just hard,” Somorrow Coleman, Tyrus’ sister said Thursday.
“I give sympathy to the family, and to the mother, I love you and I'm sorry that it had to happen."
Police still haven’t released a motive in the shootings.
Coleman could be in jail for up to 115 years if he is convicted.
