Tis' the season for sinus infections.
When your sinuses are in full swing, all you want is a doctor to give you a magic potion to make it all go away.
A prescription may not be the best solution, according to some doctors.
In fact, a new study from the University of Nebraska indicates doctors are writing too many prescriptions for sinus infections.
Such infections are often caused by viruses, and antibiotics are meant to fight bacteria, not viruses.
The study included a review of two national surveys of doctors visits.
Antibiotics were prescribed for 70 to 82% of sinus infections.
