Young male athletes keep fit in their twenties, but often let go of their sports loving ways later in life.
Is it just nature, or is there a way to nurture away the mid-life bulge?
The problem with many men is that when high school or college sports end, so does the motivation to exercise.
Physical Education Instructor Tom Fisher P.H.D. says, “The primary motivation was to do something, score a goal, play the line, whatever the position dictated. It was not to be physically attractive.”
So what does it take to whip these ex-jocks back into shape, and get them from holding a six pack to having one?
Stop thinking of exercise as punishment.
Bring back the competition and take up a league sport.
Try flag football or co-ed softball.
And work out with a partner, especially if it is someone who will not let you slack off.
