Low Water Levels At Lake Michigan

Lake Michigan is about an inch lower than this time last year.
Long range indicators show water levels will not be rising this summer.
The continually dropping levels mean the lake is about 17 inches below its long term average.
Lake Michigan only got about 1.3 inches of precipitation in February.
Low water levels affect everyone, from homeowners and boaters who can not reach their docks, to shippers whose vessels can not carry their maximum payloads.
