The Marines of South Bend's Company B will be home from Iraq at the end of the month. Before they return, family and friends are honoring the memory of one of their own, Corporal Aaron Seal, who lost his life while serving last year.
The group “One Marine” is raffling off two 2007 Harley Davidson Fatboy Motorcycles. One motorcycle will be raffled off to a returning Marine. The other will go to a random person in the drawing.
The 50 dollar raffle tickets also includes a dinner with the Marines next month. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund in honor of Corporal Seal.
“We've got 2000 tickets. Everybody that buys a ticket will be allowed to come out with a guest to the fairgrounds on the 14th of April and have dinner with the Marines, we're going to have the drawing out there,” says David Whittaker of One Marine.
The raffle drawing will be on April 14th during Family Day at the Saint Joseph County Fairgrounds. Organizers say they’re still in need of corporate sponsors for the event.
