One Person is Dead, Another Hospitalized After Shooting in Elkhart

A shooting investigation in Elkhart has now become a murder case as one of two victims in the crimes has died.

Police say the two men were shot just before 5:00 Sunday evening on the 900 block of Blaine in Elkhart.

Both men were rushed to the hospital.

One of the men, 20 year old Jermaine Jackson of Elkhart, had been shot several times and police say he died soon after arriving at the hospital.

The other shooting victim, 36 year old Anthony Dye of Elkhart, is currently in critical condition.

The shooting is under investigation by the homicide unit and officials say they have interviewed several people but they have no suspects at this time.
