Saint Joseph County Parks Sugar Camp Days Draws to a Close

The official start to spring is just a few days away.

Sunday's sunshine and blue skies brought many folks outdoors.

This weekend wraps up Saint Joseph County Parks Sugar Camp Days.

The festival revolves around the coming of spring and the making of maple syrup.

There are special cooking demos to show visitors how maple syrup was made years ago.

People also had a chance to get more hands on lessons in the sugar house.

For any breakfast fans out there, the New Carlisle Lions Club sponsored an all you can eat pancake and sausage breakfast.
“It's a great family activity. We have lots of educational activities going on for kids. We have kids activities going on. We have a performance by refugees from the 60's that'll be performing as well. Just a great day to get outside. It's a beautiful weekend,” says Leslie Witowski of St. Joseph County Parks.

Admission into Bendix Woods Park is four dollars per vehicl
