A South Bend bank robber is in jail, because of surveillance pictures we aired right here on WNDU.
Forty-four-year-old Harold Smith was arrested on Thursday. He is accused of robbing a Chase bank, located in downtown South Bend.
Police say Smith walked into the bank on Wednesday and passed a note to a teller, demanding cash.
After receiving a small amount of money, he left the bank, threw off the coat he was wearing, and headed north.
Police say someone recognized Smith from the surveillance picture, and called Crime Stoppers.
