Michiana Congressmen Introduce Veterans’ Legislation

Two Michiana congressmen are teaming up to help American veterans.

Republican Representative Fred Upton from Michigan and freshman Democrat Congressman Joe Donnelly from Indiana are sponsoring the "Fairness in Veterans Disability Benefits Act."

It would help stream-line the claims process to ensure veterans receive immediate benefits.

Donnelly says it is an important piece of legislation and he is happy to work together on the bipartisan bill.

Congressman Donnelly stated, “We are just trying to do both moderate, common sense things that can make this a better country. They're not Republican, they're not Democrat, just good things for America."

It is also an important bill for Congressman Donnelly because it is his very first piece of legislation he has introduced in the US House of Representatives.
