A deadly accident on State Road 23 has viewers sounding off about the intersection.
Wednesday an elderly man died of a heart attack while passing through the intersection of State Road 23 and the Heritage Square Shopping Plaza.
Now drivers are saying the intersection is congested and confusing.
Drivers say one of the biggest problems is the pavement markings which are faded creating problems. Some drivers say they avoid the intersection and road altogether.
INDOT says it’s a temporary problem.
The road will be repaved when it’s widened this spring. Congestion problems are also expected to relieved then too.
“The thing that scares me is that when they do widen it… the construction and widening… it is going to make it even more congested,” says Belmont Beverage employee John Kujawski.
“The turning lane is really bad. It's not clearly marked. You leave here late at night and can't really see what's going on,” says Martin’s Supermarket employee Cassandra Gordon.
The State Road will go from two lanes to four lanes from Gumwood to Brick Road.
Construction is expected to start in May or June and last two years.
