Attention St. Joseph County homeowners, your spring property tax bills will be late this year.
Most Indiana Counties anticipate missing the May 10th deadline, because of reassessment delays.
St. Joseph County Officials still do not know a specific property tax due date.
But if you can, they want you to make an estimated payment to help local governments.
St. Joseph County Treasurer, Sean Coleman says, "We would encourage, strongly encourage, taxpayers in St. Joseph County to plan on making, who have already planned on making payments, that they can come in and make payments, based on their 2006 spring tax bill."
To make an estimated payment, stop by the County-City Building Monday through Friday, during regular business hours.
Meanwhile, Elkhart, Kosciusko, La Porte and Marshall Counties also expect delays.
The good news, fall property tax installments should be sent out on time.
