The President and CEO of St. Joseph County's United Way is stepping down.
Hollis Hughes is retiring after 12-years with the organization.
A Michiana native, Hughes began his career as a teacher in South Bend schools where he also served on the school board.
Thursday, a retirement celebration was held at Ivy Tech in South Bend.
Over the years, Hughes has received several honors including the Indiana Civil Rights "outstanding citizen" award and Urban Youth's "man of the year".
The search for his replacement is underway.
