South Bend Prepping for St. Patrick’s Day

The city of South Bend is going green for St. Paddy's Day.

With the Irish holiday just a couple days away, Mayor Steve Luecke officially re-named Jefferson Boulevard, "St. Patrick's Way".

It is the first of many festive events to come during the upcoming holiday weekend.

On Saturday, the 10th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at 11AM.

The Parade starts at Jefferson Blvd. and Francis St. and heads west ending at Columbia St.

After that, the East Race will be dyed green.

Mayor Luecke stated, "It's a great tribute to the community, to the Irish in the community. But what's really special this year, is our Washington girl's state high school basketball championship team will be participating in the parade.”

The Mayor added, "Come on out and enjoy the day! It's a great day to be Irish!"
