Benton Harbor Schools are taking action, in case the state of Michigan moves forward with planned cuts.
The district is borrowing one-million dollars to cover any cuts in state aid for the remainder of the year.
Superintendent Paula Dawning says, “The district has to do it now.”
If the state decides to cut education funding, then there would not be enough time to borrow money and still make payroll.
