Tippy is about a textbook Labrador in personality if there ever was one. Tippy can be spotted 80% of the time with a tennis ball or other toy in his mouth. Retrieve? YOU BET! Love to play? YEP! He loves to be outside playing in the yard no matter what the weather is like. He loves all other animals and people. He just generally loves life! Tippy is a 4-year-old black lab mix that weighs about 80 lbs.
Tippy is house trained and has wonderful manners. If you love labs, but don't want to deal with the first two years of them chewing everything they're not supposed to and wondering what they are going to destroy next, Tippy is the dog for you! As long as you supply him with his own things he is glad to leave your's alone.
Tippy is currently in a foster home with three other dogs, two cats, and a ferret. He loves them all! He does have a lot of energy and would really enjoy a fenced in yard and a family who leads an active outdoor life.
Tippy has epilepsy and is treated with twice daily doses of Phenobarbital. The medicine is very inexpensive and easy to give to Tippy. He takes his pills with no problem, and in the few months that he has been with us has had no seizures, so it seems to be under control.
You would never even know that he has any health issues meeting him. He is the most active, but not crazy, Happy-go-Lucky dog you'll ever meet. If you can find it in your heart and home to give this special needs guys the forever family he is looking for, please contact South Bend Animal Care and Control at 574-235-9303 or email Sarah Bernth at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements to meet him.
