A portion of an Indiana highway could soon be named in honor of two fallen police officers.
Former Lake County Police Chief Gary Martin and Trooper Gary Dudley died last August.
The men were killed during a charity bike ride along Indiana-63 in Southern Indiana.
A truck plowed into the back of their support van which then hit the bicyclists.
A Senate Committee voted Tuesday to rename that stretch of road in memory of Martin and Dudley.
The resolution now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
