Can Older Men Father Healthy Children?

It has been a concern for years.

How old is too old for a woman to become pregnant?

But now, new research suggests that women are not the only ones that should be concerned.

New research suggests that age may have an impact on whether or not a man can father a child, and whether or not the baby will be born healthy.

Experts say, there is an increased risk of down syndrome, schizophrenia and autism.

“As a man ages the sperm ages too. Every cell in the body ages. And it turns out that the DNA can be disrupted in a way that causes babies to be born with genetic problems,” Dr. Harry Fisch says.

Doctors say the recent findings are just the tip of the iceberg.

They say the more research that is done on the male biological clock, the more they find disorders in infants connected to their older fathers.
