Michiana Fencer Heads to Junior Olympics

A St. Joe sophomore is off to take on a different sport.

16-year old Josh Dolezal shocked his dad four years ago when he announced he wanted to fence.

He and his dad took off for the Indiana Fencing Academy.

Now, he is one of three men in the country in his age group that is headed to Turkey where he will compete in the Junior Olympics.

“On a scale of one to ten, I was probably a three at the end of my first year,” says Josh. “If you really want something and you work as hard as you can there is nothing stopping you. For me, its not just about me, it's everyone who helped me.”
Josh refuses to take all the credit for his trip.

He says family, friends and his coach are responsible for the opportunity to compete at the Junior Olympics.
