Charges have been filed in connection with the death of a South Bend teenager.
The St. Joseph County prosecutor's office says 20-year-old Larry Mitchell shot and killed 16-year-old Ja-Vonda Tharbs.
Last April, the prosecutor's office says Tharbs was shot twice on her prom night.
She was reportedly waiting for a ride at her sister's Beacon Heights apartment.
Mitchell has been in jail since last July on a previous charge of aggravated battery.
He will be arraigned on Monday for the Tharbs case.
