A Three Rivers teen will soon head west—in the hopes of striking gold.
14-year old Maley Wright is headed to the Junior Olympics in Colorado.
Wright is a downhill skier who was practicing today at Swiss Valley Ski area in Jones.
Maley will compete in four events, including the downhill, giant slalom and slalom.
She'll compete against skiers from 17-other states.
“I love racing. I've always wanted to go to the Olympics,” said Maley, who says she’s been skiing since she was two years old.
The competition takes place next week.
