Mishawaka teachers are taking a swing at overall good health with a new addition to their lessons.
Students will soon be learning about tennis in their physical education classes.
Instructors from the United States Tennis Association came to Mishawaka’s John Young Middle School Thursday to help train teachers on the sport.
The teachers are getting ready to start adding the game to their overall lessons.
Mike Andres, a USTA Clinician, stated "But the main purpose is to teach in large groups the basics of tennis and get more kids introduced to the game of tennis."
According to the USTA, tennis is not only a great way to stay in shape but also helps students develop positive personality characteristics.
They say it is a game you can play when you are 4-years-old or even 94-years-old.
