It is more than your average field trip, but a group of college students is taking off for Poland.
Ten students from Saint Mary’s College will visit South Bend's sister city Czestochowa Poland.
They’ve kept historical pictures from previous trips since the school sends a group every two years.
The point of the trip is to see some of the similarities between the two cities geographically so far apart.
Trip coordinator Professor David Stefancic says, “it was a very heavy industry situation they've now gone over to more service oriented industry in the same way..they've gone through some of the same transitions we have! They have very much the same sort of fine arts offerings that we have..they have there. It is a very good fit in a sense!"
South Bend and Czestochowa have been sister cities since 1992.
