Parent-Child Sleep Connection

This could come as little surprise for the parents out there, but a new study shows a child's sleep problems can become their parents sleep problems.

Researchers found parents of children with more than one sleep disorder, such as apnea, night terrors, or insomnia, are more likely to have sleep-related problems themselves.

And it seems the link is stronger for mothers; when mothers and fathers reported the same number of hours of sleep, more mothers reported being sleepy during the day than fathers.

Researchers suspect this is because mothers tend to take on more responsibility for their child's sleep problems so their sleep is disrupted more often.
