It is a sign of the times in Lakeville where they have had a tough time safely getting kids on and off school buses.
It is hoped a new sign activated Tuesday on US 31, just north of town, will improve the situation.
The permanent sign is placed at the point where the speed limit increases to 55 miles per hour.
It features a flashing yellow light and warns drivers to watch for school buses.
Steve Giese of the Indiana Department of Transportation stated, “The police are patrolling that more often, a lot of speeders have had an accident. Without businesses, let alone with, this is just to warm people this is a safety zone and it's going to be watched.”
Drivers are reminded all four lanes of traffic on US 31 need to stop when a bus turns on its red flashers.
